Hot!: Did you realise you had an underground hit on your hands with ‘Come Into My Room’?

Nathan: It was crazy, at first I thought it was just my friends and family calling up for the tune but then I started seeing the reaction it got at shows. As soon as the beat came on the clubs went mad…. Then we went to do shows in Sweden and Malta and the same thing happened. Seeing people in different countries singing along to my song…… That was real dope!

 

Hot!: When you started getting label interest was it just J-Did or were there other labels?

Nathan: There were a number of different labels involved and a bidding war started between J-Did and Relentless but we decided on J-did in the end.

 

Hot!: We hear that Omar was footing the bill for everything up to that point, studio, recording, producers etc….. and he was prepared to go it alone. It must be real good to have someone believe in you that much?

Omar McNaught my manager man…..boy…. he is the man! For like five years he has done everything! He isn’t just my manager he is my business partner. We own Vybes Corner Music together which is like our Roca-fella. But Omar has just always believed in me…. He’s spent big money, dedicated time and effort. ‘O’ was just like ‘on it’ and made me have faith in myself…. I will always be grateful to him!

 

Hot!: So once you signed to J-Did how did things change. Did you immediately get good budgets for videos, do big shows, and get airplay. Was it plain sailing?

Nathan: The song was already on heavy rotation before we signed to J-Did, so we thought with J-Did we could work on the over-ground. We did the video for Come Into My Room with them after they hooked us up with a video director. J-Did joined us at a late stage, probably after the song had already peaked. So we already had a buzz going and hoped signing would throw oil on the fire to (continue...)
